You Deserve More Than Just Getting Through the Day
There was a time in my life when I’d open my eyes and my very first thought was: When can I get back in bed? I wasn’t sick. I wasn’t physically injured. I just didn’t want to be awake. I didn’t want to “do the day.” I wasn’t living — I was enduring.
And honestly? That’s how most people are living right now. Stress is high. The world feels heavy. Bills are due. Someone always needs something from you. And if you’re a high-functioning woman who gets shit done? It’s easy to mask your burnout with a smile and a schedule packed to the brim.
But here’s the thing:
We’re not meant to just get through the day. We’re meant to feel grounded in our lives. In our bodies. In our relationships. We’re meant to want to be awake. To feel connected. To feel like our lives are our own — not just one long to-do list we’re dragging ourselves through.
Real change doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when you say: Enough. Enough to the pace. Enough to the pressure. Enough to being last on your own list. Because here’s the hard truth I’ve learned personally, professionally, and from every woman I’ve ever walked alongside in this work: If you don’t make a dramatic change — nothing will change.
You don’t “stumble into alignment.” You fight for it. And yes — it’s a fight. It’s hard to turn the phone off. Hard to say no to things people expect of you. Hard to ask for help. Hard to sit with your own thoughts.
But that’s what real self-care is. It’s fierce. It’s radical. And it’s protective. It means making choices that restore your nervous system — not wreck it.
It means prioritizing time to breathe — even if that means disappointing people. It means setting boundaries that protect your energy instead of draining it.
Because guess what?
That version of you who feels peaceful in her body, strong in her choices, and grounded in her worth — she’s on the other side of this work. You don’t get there by doing what you’ve always done.
You get there by choosing to heal. Choosing yourself. Choosing more than just “making it through the day.”
